The 4 Grand Slam events are the biggest tennis tournaments in the game. They are played on different surfaces on a regular calendar. The Australian Open is the first major in a season, and the US Open is the last. They are both played on the hard courts. In June and July, Roland Garros and Wimbledon are played respectively. While the former is played on red clay, the latter is played on the grass courts. Every slam has 128 players in the initial draw.             

These biggest tennis tournaments offer excellent prize money and ranking points to the players. The champion gets 2,000 points, whereas the finalist gets 1,200. In terms of points and prestige, the Nitto ATP finale ranks second among the biggest tennis tournaments. It was earlier played in Shanghai but now in London. From the year 2021, the venue will be shifter to Turin in Italy.  The season-ending finale has only 89 players who participate in the tournament. They are the top 8 guys in terms of ranking points accumulated in the season. 

The ATP finals have round-robin format unlike the knockout format in other events. The players are divided into two groups of four each. The tournament winner can achieve a maximum of 1,500 ranking points. It is one of the most exciting and the biggest tennis tournaments in the ATP calendar.

Every tennis calendar has 9 Masters 1000s events. Six of them are played on the hard courts whereas the other 3 on clay. The grass surface does not host any of the Masters Series events.  They are also ranked among the biggest tennis tournaments with great competition among the players.  Indian Wells is the 1st Masters 1000 of a tennis calendar and probably the most prestigious one. Moreover, the final Masters 1000 event is held in Paris in November every year.

Rafael Nadal holds the record for the most Masters Series title wins. He has won 36 of them so far, with 11 titles coming at Monte Carlo. The Spaniard is closely followed by his archrival Novak Djokovic with 35 title wins. The Serb is the only tennis player to have won all the 9 Masters trophies at least once. Hence, this unique record is known as the Golden Masters.
