The United States Open Tennis Championship, known as the US Open is among the premium ESPN tennis tournaments. It is the annual open national championship, which is actually a hard court tennis tournament. It is one of the prestigious tennis events and the recent one is the modern version of the oldest tennis championships in the world. The oldest tournament of U.S. National Championship was a men’s singles match that was first played in 1881.
Since 1987, the channel televises this event as the fourth and final Grand Slam tournament of the year. The event starts on last Monday of August and as Wimbledon continues for two weeks. The leading sports channel ESPN covers the entire event.

Before 1988, grass courts were the main ground of this tennis championship. But later on, the hardcourt created at Melbourne Park.
